4.5 FILTER ENVELOPE ![]() Filter type The Filter type LEDs indicate the currently selected filter type. Select another filter type by clicking on the appropriate LEDs.
LP24 = Low-pass filter (24 dB); removes even more high frequencies. HP = High-pass filter; removes low frequencies. BP = Band-pass filter; passes a band of frequencies. BR = Band-reject filter; removes a band of frequencies. Cutoff and resonance These faders set the filters cutoff frequency and resonance amount. In the case of a band-pass/reject filter, the resonance fader sets the band-width. Note that the actual filter cutoff frequency is determined by several parameters, as illustrated below : ![]() Filter envelope settings The filter envelope is an ADSR-envelope. The four faders are used to set the attacktime, decaytime, sustainlevel and releasetime. The amount of envelope ('maximum height of envelope') is set using the Filter Gain knob. When the knob is at its center position, the output of the envelope will be 0. With the knob at its far right position the envelope envelope will be maximum. At its far left position the filter envelope will also be maximum, but inverted. Filter keyboard tracking As we can see above, the actual filter cutoff frequency is determined partially by the 'keyboard tracking'. This option increases the actual filter cutoff by 0/3, 1/3, 2/3 or 3/3 the note frequency. Without this option, high-pitched notes would lose their high frequencies. Select the amount of filter keyboard-tracking by clicking on the KbtAmt LEDS. The left-most LED sets keyboardtracking to 0/3, the right-most LED to 3/3. Velocity to filter envelope gain The Vel2Filt LED toggles note-on-velocity-to-filter-gain. If enabled, the filter envelope amount will be proportional to the volume of the note you play. So a very loud note will have a normal envelope gain, but a very soft note will have hardly no envelope gain. If Vel2Filt is disabled, all notes will have the normal envelope gain regardless of the notes volume. ![]() Velocity to amplitude The Vel2Amp LED toggles note-on-velocity-to-amplitude. This option is normally enabled and makes it possible to play notes at a different volume. When this options is disahbled, all notes will have maximum volume, regardless of their note-on velocity. |
