How did I come to this project : (Chojin's story) ... IMPORTANT MESSAGE AT THE START: The DreamHack-Organizer are a bunch of l8mers. This JAVA-Demo should have been released longtime ago on the so-called swedish biggest party DreamHack 1998. Though the organizer there cancled the competition. We tried to bring it to Party8 instead but no one finally managed to get there. So this is the 3rd attempt now. The code is a bit old, but still kicks some ass compared to the JAVA stuff I've seen until now. Okay now on with the original story :
Well just a moment have to load WinAmp with the correct sound, okay now we can
start. :).... First I've to admit I'm not good at telling stories. Well I guess as
this was all my idea from the beginning I guess I've got the biggest story to tell :).
(Yeah I'm the one to blame B) ).
My guess is this idea was hanging arround in the back of my mind, when I first saw
the Image-Video of Nausicaae Valley of the Wind which was made by Maboroshi Studio.
A great editing by them! But it came to the surface just when I was siting in the
cinema in Esslingen/Stuttgart (Germany) to watch Mononoke Hime for the 2nd time.
(In my opinion a movie every human-being should watch!). Well as I also was sick
of most of all the recent PC-Demos I saw, they just were nearly all the same, this
death-alien-I'm-going-to-die-suicide-Armageddon-style really got me sick. I thought
it's time for something different something deeper maybe something more positive,
brighter and something with some sort of story behind it. (Maybe we succeeded
maybe not, I don't know judge for yourself). Okay back to the cinema. Well as
the impact of the movie on myself was very deep, I thought BANG! Wouldn't that be
a good idea to make some crossover Demo/Image-Music-Video between Nausicaae
Valley of the Wind and Mononoke Hime. Because both movies have much incommon. Same
topic, same Director, same Production-Studio. And at this moment I remembered that
really good Image-Music-Video from Maboroshi Studio and I thought why not take
that as the basis and add some additional stuff to it. Well the rest is history and
here is the result of it. I mixed also in the main-character from "OnYourMark" maybe
the best Music-Video ever produced. |
