Back in the eighties there used to be wars. Wars... funny word, especially in the scene. The groups warfare consisted of each other writing mean things about each other in scrolltexts and textfiles. I have even heard of sceners fighting physically. Well, that might be just some silly rumours, I don't know. Anyhow, sceners really hated each other, a phenomena that wasn't any good for the scene. The scene is such a small sub-culture that it can't work properly if the sceners doesn't stand united. Sure, there is hatred amongst today's sceners too but not as much as in the so called "good old days". 

Now a new phenomena that we also can call a war has appeared in the Swedish scene. For a while 3LE and TBL have made demos and intros teasing each other but it is all just for fun. Maybe you already know these two groups and their productions but I will tell you something about the members as persons and the groups as families. 

TBL (The Black Lotus) is the group that can be considered as the best group in the scene of today. Still they are very humble persons (even if they tend to tie people at parties and place them in the middle of the hall). They really love to make demos, even the coders, and that is the thing that makes them so good. They haven't been too glad when 3LE has beaten them all the time when they have competed against each other, though. 

3LE (Three Little Elks) began their carrier making Amos-demos (they still do sometimes). When the two coders Explorer and Tabasco joined things started to change. The group exists just for friendship and fun and most members doesn't care at all about the scene. They have got very few really skilled members but their sense for design and their humour makes them one of the top-groups of today. 

For some strange reason these two groups are in war with each other. I guess that it started when TBL wrote something about 3LE, who they saw as their main threat to their number one position in Sweden, in a demo about half a year ago. 3LE replied by making Bill, an intro that presented the true story about Offa's first object, Bill (which has joined 3LE by now). This funny war will continue and I guess that 3LE will be quite surprised soon, maybe at Assembly? 

What I'm trying to say with this article is that the scene is better today when even the wars are friendly. I hope we can continue this way and maybe one day create The United Scene ((C) 1996 Note) that you can read about in another article in this magazine.
