Manu's oddity - more gaming devices you don't see every day
Reprising his show and tell number from last year, Manu returns to the stage with another handful of unusual gaming devices from his collection. You can even try out some of these curiosities!
How to actually make a demo?
How to navigate the dizzying amount of choice regarding tools and techniques related to demo creation? And how to actually finish making one? The talk introduces a selection of straightforward techniques and tools for programming, graphics and music composition. And to make best use of the practical skills, time management and dealing with the hardships of creativity are covered as well. The goal is to give an overview of the creation process and cover the different aspects of it in enough detail to enable everyone to make their first demo.
From bytes to heritage: How do we preserve digital heritage for future generations?
The discussion panel explores the preservation of digital heritage for our descendants. What kinds of digital phenomena should museums and other memory organizations preserve and why? How could museums and communities co-operate in creating records? The audience is invited to participate in the discussion!
The main discussion is conducted in Finninsh, but questions and comments in English are also welcome.
Stands
Stands can be visited at any time during the party.
Logi's museum stand
Meet the experts of Logi, the task force with national responsibility for digital life (composed of the Finnish Museum of Games, Rupriikki Media Museum and Postal Museum), at the museum stand! A selection of items and photos from the collections of the Logi museums is on display. Converse, ask and share ideas on how Finnish digital cultural heritage could be preserved!
