Go to the System Data menu and then to Network Addresses. Change your main
address (as shown in picture to the left) to your node number assigned to you.
If you have not yet been assigned a node number by a echomail net, then you
can just fill this in as 50:50/50 or something like that for now.
|
 |
Now go back to the System Data menu and then go to Pathnames. Fill in the
paths as shown in the picture to the left. The paths that are left blank in
the picture you should also leave blank, as they are not needed. I am assuming
you are using D:\GECHO as your gecho path, if you are using something different
then change the paths accordingly (just use common sense).
|
 |
Now go back to the System Data menu and then go to Filenames. Fill in the
filenames as shown in the picture to the left. The only filename you really
need to fill in is the GEcho log filename. I recommend you leave the others
blank.
|
 |
Now go back to the System Data menu and then go to Compression programs. Select
ZIP and then hit F10 to make it the default compression program. You shouldn't
have to change any other settings here.
|
 |
Now go back to the System Data menu and then go to Area group names. Fill in
Group names for each echomail net you are joining (probably just 1).

Now go back to the System Data menu and go to Origin lines. Fill in an origin
line for 1. Use something like "your bbs name - your city - your number."
Do not include your node number, GEcho will automatically append your node number
to the end of the origin line.
|
 |
Now go back to the System Data menu and then back to the Main menu. Select
Node manager. You will now add an entry for your hub's information. You do
not need to have an entry for yourself. If you are joining 2 nets, then you
will need 2 entries, one for each of your hubs.
Hit INSERT and fill in all of the information as shown. Most likely, you will
not need a password unless your hub has assigned you one to use. Now hit ESC
and hit Y to save changes. You should be back at the main menu now.
|
 |
Now go to Area manager. You now have to add an entry for EACH echomail base
you are joining. hit INSERT to add the first echomail base. A sample is shown
in the picture to the left. The Area name must be filled in as the EXACT echomail
name. Make sure that the Area type is Echomail and that the Format is *.MSG.
I am using D:\ECHOMAIL for all of my echomail bases, so each base has
its own subdirectory from D:\ECHOMAIL. You shouldn't have to mess with any of
the Options. the Origin AKA and Seen-By should both be your node number.
Go to Export list, then hit INSERT and type in your hub's node number. this
tells GEcho who to send/receive packets for this base to. Follow this procedure
for each and every echomail base.
